Two ways to participate: with a boat or on the Committee Boat. SSA will organize a group on the Committee Boat and encourage any Skipper that wants to enter the parade. The dream is to have at least one boat from every yacht club in Northern California. From the blessing of the fleet in Racoon Straits (Tiburon) to the parade of decorated boats this is a great day to be on the Bay. Dating back to 1917 and organized by PICYA, the parade runs just north of Anita Rock off the shore of Chrissy Field in the SF Presidio, follows along the city front to first Fort Mason building east of Marina Green. This is a competition according to the categories. Some boats will decorate to the theme which is open to many interpretations. Anything associated with music is celebrated whether a musician, band, music genre, musical, movie or cartoon.
