SSA is Invited January 1 to Around the Island 2024 on Alameda Island

For many years the yacht clubs on Alameda have celebrated the New Year by boarding their boats, grabbing some friends and tying up at the the guest docks at all of the yacht clubs and enjoying the food and drink offered at the open houses. The flyer did not get updated for 2024 but Breeze has called all the clubs and received the updated plans. You can see that information below.
SSA Skipper Tom Lewis is planning on taking S/V Casey out. As of "press time" Tom has 2-3 open seats. 530-591-3287. Casting off 8:30 am. First stop is Ballena Bay around 10:30, then to Aeolian and back to his dock at Grand Marina. You get to pass under drawbridges!!
Breeze will be land cruising so I can welcome the rest of you. I will be at Ballena Bay at 10:30 then I plan to go to Aeolian, Encinal and OYC. I might go say hi at the Island Yacht Clubs raft up if there is time. Please join me and let's kick off the New Year together.
Aeolian: Bar opens 11am serving Gin Fizzes, Mimosas, Bloody Mary's and Irish Coffee. Chili, cornbread and the fixings will be for sale 12p - 3p.
Ballena Bay: Serving from 9am - 5p coffee, donuts, bagels and later in the day snacks. Live music is from 12 - 3pm
Oakland: Serving 10 - 4 beer, wine, mimosas, bloody Marys and clam chowder in a sour dough bowl.
Ending: Open from 12 - 4 also serving clam chowder and the full bar is available. Credit cards only
Island YC: Final plans are TBD
